IPL and PSL to Start On the Same Day

Dec 16, Kathmandu - The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 cricket will start on the same day.

The 19th edition of the IPL will be held from March 26 to May 31 next year. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not announced the full schedule, the 19th edition of the IPL will begin about three weeks after the T20 World Cup.

Similarly, the 11th edition of PSL will be held from March 26 to May 3, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said. This will be the longest PSL edition so far, lasting 39 days. Earlier, the league was usually completed within 30 to 35 days, but this time, about a week has been added to the calendar.

Before that, two new franchise teams will be added to the league through an auction to be held in Islamabad on January 8, after which the PSL will become an eight-team competition.

This is the second consecutive year that the IPL and PSL competitions will clash. The PSL began on April 12, 20 days after the IPL began in 2025.
