Israeli Forces Strike Hezbollah Infrastructure in Lebanon

Dec 18, Kathmandu - According to Lebanese government media, the Israeli army has targeted Hezbollah’s infrastructure and military facilities during attacks in Lebanon.

Despite a ceasefire in November 2024, which was expected to end over a year of hostilities between Israel and militant groups like Hezbollah, Israel has continued its attacks in Lebanon. The Israeli military has stationed troops in five southern regions and launched multiple attacks in the southern and eastern mountainous areas, as reported by Lebanon’s official National News Agency.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they targeted several militant infrastructure sites across Lebanon, including military facilities used by Hezbollah for training and courses, which are utilized by Iran-backed militants. Earlier, the IDF had conducted operations against Hezbollah militants in the Tyre area of southern Lebanon.

A meeting of the ceasefire monitoring committee, involving the United States, France, and other stakeholders, is scheduled for this coming Friday. On Tuesday, an Israeli attack approximately 30 kilometers south of Beirut resulted in two deaths. Since the ceasefire agreement was implemented, approximately 340 people have been reported dead due to Israeli attacks, according to Lebanon's health ministry, as cited by AFP.
