Dec 19, Kathmandu - Seven people injured during the Gen-Z protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24 have been recommended for classification. Out of the 142 injured in this district, they have been classified and recommended to the center.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, Chudamani Sharma Gautam, 17 of the injured have so far made identity cards. Seven of them have been sent to the district for classification after a decision has been made. Most of those classified have moderate and minor injuries.
Based on the working procedures for classifying the injured during the Gen-Z demonstration, there is a technical committee at the center, while the district-level classification facilitation committee in the district categorizes the injured.
There is an eight-member coordination committee chaired by the Chief District Officer. The committee consists of the Chief Medical Superintendent of the Federal Hospital, two doctors, the Chief of Public Health, a police officer, and an officer from the District Administration Office. The committee categorizes the injured in the district and sends them to the center.
The technical team of the center will review it again and submit it to the Council of Ministers through the Ministry of Health. Gautam informed that the cases will be classified into four stages: very serious, serious, moderate and normal. According to him, the state has arranged for living allowances for the very serious, serious and moderate injured among the injured according to their condition.
There is a provision to provide up to Rs 20,000 for treatment expenses in the initial phase after issuing identity cards to those injured during the protests in the district. He also urged those who are permanent residents of other districts to submit an application along with proof that their identity cards were not obtained from that district.
The administration has also urged those injured during the protests to contact the local administration as the work of distributing and classifying identity cards is underway.
