Dec 21, Kathmandu - As per the announcement of the United Nations, ‘World Meditation Day’ has been celebrated today by organizing various programs.
The United Nations has announced that December 21 will be celebrated as World Meditation Day, and Meditation Day is also being celebrated in Nepal.
It is said that the United Nations General Assembly has accepted yoga and meditation as complementary measures for health.
On December 7 last year, the United Nations officially recognized December 21 as World Meditation Day.
The day was celebrated for the first time in the same year in Tundikhel under the government’s own organization. This year too, this day is being celebrated under the organization of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
Those involved in this field say that Nepal should be developed as the ‘meditation capital’ of the world. After eleven years of continuous efforts, the United Nations has recognized Meditation Day.
This proposal was put forward since 2014. On December 7 last year, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution of 18 countries, including Nepal.
