Satellite Sent by China Reaches Space

Dec 21, Kathmandu - China successfully launched a new communication technology test satellite into space from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in south China's Hainan Province on Saturday.

The satellite was launched aboard a Long March-5 carrier rocket at 8:30 pm Beijing time. After the launch, the satellite successfully entered the designated orbit.

The satellite will be mainly used for testing and verifying multi-band and high-speed communication technology.

With this launch, the Long March carrier rocket series completed its 618th mission.
