Dec 25, Kathmandu - Nine people have died in a fire that broke out after a bus and tanker collided in Karnataka, India.
According to the Times of India, the death toll in a fire that broke out after a sleeper bus collided with a tanker carrying fuel coming from the opposite direction in Chitradurga district on Thursday morning has risen to nine. Police said more passengers may have died in the accident.
The tanker had hit a road divider and overturned. At that time, it hit the bus and caught fire.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident. He paid tribute to the victims in a post on Twitter (X). Prime Minister Modi has also wished the injured a speedy recovery.
