Dec 25, Kathmandu - The Ninth Edition of the National Women's Volleyball Tournament is scheduled to be held under the organization of the Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Foundation.
The tournament will take place from Pous 23 to 26 at the indoor hall of the National Sports Council in Tripureshwor, with participation from five different teams, according to the organizers.
At a press conference held today, organizer Ranjan Khadka, also the chairman of the organizing committee, stated that the competition will feature former champions Nepal Police Club, AFEP Club of the Armed Police Force, New Diamond Youth Sports Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, and Everest Volleyball Club.
The tournament, conducted with technical support from the Nepal Volleyball Association, will divide participating teams into two groups and will be played on a league basis without knockout stages, the organizers said.
The winning team will be awarded NPR 500,000, while the runners-up will receive NPR 250,000. The third-place team will be granted NPR 125,000.
The most outstanding player of the tournament will be honored with NPR 50,000 along with other attractive prizes. Additionally, the best player in each category will receive NPR 25,000, and the 'Player of the Match' for each game will be awarded NPR 15,000 in cash.
During the opening ceremony of the ninth edition, one national player will be honored with a special award, including a cash prize of NPR 50,000, by Sher Bahadur Khadka, the organizer revealed.
The overall expenditure for organizing the tournament is estimated to be around NPR 4 million.
