Oli Opens Up About Balen's Decision to Contest from Jhapa-5

Dec 25, Kathmandu - Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah is holding discussions with the aim of forming a party under his own leadership and contesting the upcoming elections.

At Kumar Ben's house in Kupandol, Lalitpur, he held discussions with senior cardiologist Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, RPP spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi, Janamat Party chairman CK Raut, former secretary Bhim Upadhyay, former vice chairman of Bibeksheel Sajha Milan Pandey, activist Sagar Dhakal, Gen-Z activist Rakshya Bam, KP Khanal, artist Nischal Basnet, Kantipur Media Group Managing Director Sambhav Sirohiya, Suraj Singh Thakuri, journalists Rishi Dhamala, Ramesh Poudel, Resham Chaudhary and others.

During the discussions, the participants said that Balen indicated that he wanted to become a candidate from UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli's constituency, Jhapa-5. According to him, Balen has not yet reached a final decision, as the discussions are still ongoing.

Oli has responded that it was 'outstanding' in this meeting. When asked by a journalist whether Balen is contesting the election from Jhapa, Oli said, "Very good."
