Dec 25, Kathmandu - Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed her strong opposition to the idea of turning Nepal into Bangladesh. Speaking at a program on Thursday, she criticized the interim government, describing it as having become "sudden" or "unexpected."
Karki lamented the constant criticism and abusive language from political parties and Gen-Z youth, who are allegedly demanding the resignation of the government on a daily basis. She highlighted the widespread verbal attacks she has faced from various quarters and emphasized that her team is exercising patience while enduring these challenges.
She remarked, “It seems we are just like a sudden storm. Political parties criticize us harshly; some even threaten to leave the government daily. Gen-Z youth also say, 'Leave today, leave tomorrow, leave the day after.' But what does it mean to leave? The very next day after leaving, they insulted us. They say, ‘You had your chance, and now you are just walking away.’ We are like a pendulum, working hard, enduring all hardships with patience."
Karki also addressed the rising frustration among youth, mentioning, “There are talks among young people questioning why elections are necessary. Our current situation is such that we cannot find happiness anywhere when we go out. Please write about us too. There are about 25 to 30 Gen-Z youth, each demanding different tasks. We are committed to preventing Nepal from becoming Bangladesh. We do not want Bangladesh."
She concluded by stating that they are in a state where they cannot find happiness, even when travelling anywhere.
