Dec 26, Kathmandu - One person has died and 16 others have been injured in a jeep accident involving students from the local Janajagruti Secondary School in Bhumikasthan Municipality.

The jeep (Lu2Cha 5179) going from Bhumikasthan Municipality-10, Dhanchaur to Nuwakot met with an accident near Chirling Khola in the same municipality-7. The jeep driver, Rudra Bahadur Budhamagar, 45, of Bhumikasthan-10, Dhanchaur, died.

All the injured are being treated at Arghakhanchi Hospital. The accident occurred when a jeep carrying students who were going to participate in the municipal-level President's Running Shield competition organized by Bhumikasthan Municipality from today met with an accident.

The municipality has stated that all today's games under the competition have been postponed following the accident.
