Balen Shah Willing to be Recognize as Chairman of Rabi Lamichhane's RSP

Dec 26, Kathmandu - Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah is ready to accept Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane as his leader.

However, Balen has insisted that he should be made the Prime Minister after securing a majority in the election on Falgun 21. After Ravi was also positive about Balen's condition, the second-tier leaders are starting to prepare points of agreement.

According to leaders of both sides involved in the talks, work is currently underway to prepare possible points for agreement. Although efforts are ongoing for an agreement, it has not been decided whether it will be signed immediately.

Teams from both sides are currently discussing how and in what kind of cooperation to move forward. They are preparing points of agreement and have been discussing with Rabi for a while. Meanwhile, Balen is also busy in the city council, putting his aides to work on the housework.

Shishir Khanal from the RSP is leading the homework to prepare the points of agreement. Kumar Byanjanakar, a resident of Jwagal, who was the focus of the dialogue throughout the day on Thursday, is representing Balen. Ashim Shah is also facilitating the talks. A former RSP MP, he is close to both Rabi and Balen.

"For now, Balen is ready to accept Rabi as the Chairman. He will remain in the second position behind him," said a leader of the RSP. "Talks are also underway with Mr. Kulman. Talks are moving towards an agreement. What kind of agreement has not yet been finalized."
