Dec 26, Kathmandu - Balananda Sharma, newly appointed Foreign Minister of the interim government, has taken the oath of office and secrecy. The ceremony was held today at Shital Niwas, where Minister Sharma took the oath before President Ram Chandra Poudel.

Sharma is a former soldier of the Nepalese Army. Although he did not become the Chief of Army Staff, he has held various responsibilities in the country since then. He is also known for his role as a member of the Maoist Combatant Integration Committee, where he was involved in efforts to conclude the peace process.
