Dec 26, Kathmandu - The 18th session of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City's Municipal Assembly has passed important decisions related to health service expansion and organizational reforms.
At the convention held on Friday, Metropolitan Mayor Balen Shah announced that various proposals had been approved in accordance with Section 16 of the Municipal Assembly Procedures Act 2075 BS.
The Municipal Council has approved the proposal regarding the management of the required manpower for the 10 Health Promotion Centers with health insurance, approved by the 43rd Municipal Executive.
Accordingly, 30 people have been approved for various positions in the Health Promotion Centers and an additional 20 contract employees for software development and operation. The proposal was passed on the basis of voice vote.
"I submit for approval the proposal to approve the contract positions of 30 people for various positions for software development and operation of 10 health promotion centers with health insurance implemented, approved by the 43rd Executive Council, which is number 6 on the agenda of today's meeting," said Metropolitan Mayor Balen. "Based on the voice vote in favor, I declare that the proposal to approve the contract positions approved by the 43rd Executive Council has been approved in accordance with Section 16 of the Municipal Assembly Operation Procedures Act 2075 BS."
The Municipal Assembly has also approved a proposal to delegate authority to the Municipal Executive to proceed with the review of the organizational structure and staffing of the Metropolitan City.
The Municipal Executive has been given the authority to approve and implement the Organization and Management Survey Report submitted by the committee formed under Section 5 of the Local Services Act issued by the Bagmati Province Government.
It is believed that these decisions passed by the Municipal Assembly will further strengthen the administrative structure of the Metropolitan City, along with strengthening its health services.
