Explosion at Jyoti Distillery: One dead, 6 injured

Dec 27, Kathmandu - One person has died and six workers have been injured in a boiler machine explosion at Jyoti Distillery Pvt. Ltd. located in Dumariya, Katahariya Municipality-9, Rautahat on Saturday morning.

According to the police, 51-year-old Jagdish Yadav, 55-year-old Bigan Yadav, and 40-year-old Mukesh Yadav, who work in the industry, are injured. Their hands and feet are burned and their condition is critical. Rahmod Alam, 45, Pramjit Yadav, 35, and Kailash Mali, 40, were injured in the explosion, said Dharmendra Poudel, Senior Deputy Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, Katahariya.

The police have identified the deceased as Laxman Ray Yadav, 45, as the deceased. Three of the injured are in critical condition. Immediately after receiving the news of the incident, police teams were deployed from Area Police Offices Katahariya, Garuda and Laksminiya Bijayapur to rescue the injured and send them to the hospital for treatment.

The explosion has completely damaged the physical structure of the industry. The District Police Office, Rautahat, has informed that further investigation is underway.

As the condition of some of the injured is still serious, further treatment is being provided.
