Dec 27, Kathmandu - An emergency response exercise has been conducted at Trishuli Hospital in Nuwakot. Trishuli Hospital has demonstrated an emergency response exercise by practicing a simulated incident. The mock drill was conducted with the aim of enhancing emergency response capacity.
The exercise, conducted under the annual work plan of the hospital, was conducted to practice the rescue, treatment and management of the injured by creating a hypothetical scene of a bus accident. During the exercise, the triage system was adopted and the injured were classified into red (serious), yellow (moderate) and green (normal) according to their condition, said Upendra Budhathoki, Chairman of the Hospital Management and Operations Committee.
The exercise helped test the hospital's preparedness to provide priority services to patients in emergencies, informed Dr. Rajendra Lama, Director of the hospital. He said that the exercise was conducted with the aim of effectively mobilizing the human resources, equipment and resources available in the hospital in emergencies, as well as refreshing the role of various departmental doctors, health workers and ambulance workers.
The exercise was attended by health workers, employees, hospital officials, and the general public. Trishuli Hospital is confident that the exercise will enhance coordination, preparedness, and quality of service during potential disasters.
