Dec 29, Kathmandu - Magde Rural Municipality has decided to provide a subsidy of Rs 10 per liter of milk with the aim of encouraging farmers involved in dairy production. The rural municipality has stated that it has launched the program with the aim of making the dairy business systematic, professional and sustainable.
According to Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Chief Administrative Officer of the rural municipality, the subsidy program was introduced in view of the situation where local dairy farmers are facing problems due to increasing production costs and market prices not increasing as expected.
The official said that this program is expected to help increase farmers' income, continue dairy production, and create employment at the local level.
