Lekhak Steps Out After Giving Statement to Commission of Inquiry

Dec 29, Kathmandu - Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress Central Committee member Ramesh Lekhak gave a two-hour-long statement on Monday before the high-level inquiry commission at Singha Durbar regarding the "Gen-Z" movement incident.

Lekhak, who resigned on the evening of Bhadau 23 following the initial outbreak of violence and loss of life, arrived at the commission to provide his firsthand account of the events. Following his resignation, the unrest escalated on Bhadau 24, leading to widespread arson and vandalism of public and private property across Kathmandu and other major cities.
