Nepal Police Bust Fake Gold Syndicate, Arrest Five Members for Rs. 5 Lakh Fraud

Dec 29, Kathmandu - Nepal Police has arrested a gang that defrauded people of five hundred thousand rupees by giving them fake gold. District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai informed that they were arrested on the charge of defrauding people by passing off fake gold as genuine gold.

A police team has arrested a gang that was defrauding people by giving them metal ingots that look like gold in Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-5, Kathmandu, and made them public today.

Those arrested are Sukuman Singh Blon, 45, of Indrasarobar Rural Municipality, Makawanpur, Rajendra Tamang, 48, of Makawanpur, Bir Bahadur Tamang, 53, of Bakaiya Rural Municipality, Makawanpur, and Jit Bahadur Tamang, 42, of Devchuli, Nawalparasi. The police have extended the remand of all four arrested persons on charges of fraud by the district court and are investigating.
