Dec 30, Kathmandu - A woman riding a motorcycle has died and her husband was seriously injured when a tanker hit a motorcycle in Lokanthali, Madhyapurthimi Municipality-1 today.

A tanker carrying diesel (Na7 Kha 9266) coming from Kathmandu towards Bhaktapur on the Lokanthali Chowk road hit a motorcycle (Ba 23 Pa 9234) heading towards Bhaktapur, killing 32-year-old Swastika Air Badal, who was riding behind the motorcycle, on the spot.

The motorcycle driver, Karan Singh Badal, 34, a resident of Naugad Rural Municipality-1 in Darchula and currently residing in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, was seriously injured in the accident. He is undergoing treatment at Bhaktapur International Hospital in Kausaltar, according to the police circle.

The driver of the tanker, Prashant Bal, 25, of Amlekhgunj, Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-21, Bara, has been taken into custody by the police.
