Commission of Inquiry To Write to the Former Prime Minister Oli

Jan 01, Kathmandu - The commission formed to investigate the Gen-Z movement of Bhadra 23 and 24 has written to the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for a statement.

In response to a question from a media person today, Commission Chairperson Gauri Bahadur Karki clarified that once the work of taking a statement from the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has been completed, they will now write to the then Prime Minister Oli to call him for a statement.

The Commission has written the letter at a time when Nepal Communist Party (UML) Chairman and then Prime Minister Oli has been making public his statement in favor of not going to the Commission to give a statement, raising questions about the legal status and integrity of the Commission.

Similarly, he said that they are working to submit the report within the extended deadline for the commission.

The tenure of the three-member commission formed by the Council of Ministers meeting on Ashwin 5 has been extended until Magh 5.
