Jan 02, Kathmandu - The Qatar government has granted amnesty to 13 Nepali citizens serving prison sentences there. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Thursday, expressing gratitude to the Qatari government for granting amnesty to 13 Nepali prisoners on the occasion of National Day and International Human Rights Day.
The ministry said in a statement that the amnesty, granted on humanitarian grounds, is a profound expression of the existing bilateral relations, friendship and cordiality between Nepal and Qatar. The ministry hopes that such a generous step will further strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
