Nepal Loses to Scotland in Practice Match Ahead of ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier

Jan 09, Kathmandu - Nepal, which is preparing for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers, has lost to Scotland in a practice match.

Nepal lost to Scotland by 27 runs in the match played today at the Tribhuvan University Ground in Kirtipur. Chasing a strong target of 184 runs set by Scotland, Nepal was bundled out for 156 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Samjhana Khadka top-scored for Nepal with an unbeaten 52 runs. Similarly, Kabita Kunwar scored an unbeaten 29 runs, while captain Indu Barma scored 28 and Kabita Joshi scored 22 runs.

For Scotland, Darcey Carter took three wickets, while Kathryn Bryce, Olivia Bell and Chloe Abel took one wicket each.

Earlier, Scotland, which won the toss and elected to bat first, had scored a total of 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Catherine Brice scored an unbeaten 62 runs off 28 balls. Similarly, Priyanaz Chatterji scored an unbeaten 40 runs.

For Nepal, Rubina Chhetri and Kabita Kunwar took two wickets each, while Riya Sharma and Rachana Chaudhary took one wicket each.
