Jan 11, Kathmandu - Bollywood's popular female-centric police franchise 'Mardaani' is all set to make a comeback with a bang.
Yash Raj Films has announced that the release date of Rani Mukerji starrer 'Mardaani 3', which was scheduled to release on February 27, will be pushed forward to January 30, 2026.
The first poster released along with the date announcement hints that the film will be its deepest, most violent and serious yet.
For more than a decade, 'Mardaani' has been making a strong mark as Hindi cinema's most successful and only female-led police franchise.
Actress Rani Mukerji is reprising her iconic role of Shivani Shivaji Roy in the third installment. This incarnation of Shivani, a fearless, tough and uncompromising police officer, is said to be even more powerful and profound.
According to Indian media, ‘Mardaani 3’, which is being prepared under the direction of Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, will continue the tradition of fearlessly exposing the sensitive and uncomfortable realities of society like its previous parts.
The first part ‘Mardaani’ raised a serious issue like human trafficking, while ‘Mardaani 2’ showed the terrifying mentality of a mentally deranged serial criminal. It is said that the third part will also bring another dark and cruel side of society to the screen.
