Jan 11, Kathmandu - Nepali cricket star Sandeep Lamichhane made a notable impact in his fourth match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), claiming a vital wicket for Rajshahi Royals.
Playing against Rangpur Riders on Sunday, Lamichhane bowled four overs, conceding 21 runs and taking one wicket—those of Litton Das. His performance helped cement Rajshahi Royals' victory in a thrilling match.
The Royals successfully chased down Rangpur’s target of 179 runs with seven balls to spare, finishing at 3 wickets down. Muhammad Waseem was the star with an unbeaten 87, while captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto contributed 76.
Earlier, Rangpur Riders set a competitive total of 178 runs for 4 wickets in their 20 overs, with Tawhid Hridoy scoring an unbeaten 97. Rajshahi’s innings saw them lose 3 wickets as they reached the target comfortably.
Lamichhane, who has played four matches so far, took one wicket each in his second and third games, after starting with two wickets in his first appearance.
With five wins in seven matches, Rajshahi Royals sit second in the league standings with 10 points.
