15th Miss Little Newa Talent Show Held in Kathmandu

Jan 12, Kathmandu - The 15th edition of the Miss Little Newa talent competition, showcasing the vibrant talents of the Newar community's young girls, was successfully held in the capital city on Saturday.

The talent show took place at Hotel Pauwa in Gausala, featuring 20 contestants aged 9 to 13 from the Newar community. The young participants displayed a diverse range of talents, including dance, skating, gymnastics, painting, violin and drum performances, traditional dances, sketching, and more. Many of the contestants captivated judges and spectators alike with performances set to traditional Newari songs.

The event was graced by distinguished personalities including Advocate Lakshyaman Maharjan, Lion Club Kathmandu District Advisor Mankrishna Shrestha, Dr. Shikshita Shrestha, Jiweshwar Lal Shrestha, principal of Namuna Fashion College, musician Sachin Maharjan, Nepali film actress Hisila Maharjan, Nepali language trainer Raju Napit, and Miss Little Newa Nayna Shakya, who served as judges.

Organized by Nepali Fashion Home and Fight for Life Nepal, the event was chaired by Hema Manandhar, President of Nepalese Fashion Home. The chief guest was Dr. Devkaji Dangol, founder of R.D. Foundation. Special guests included Santam Maharjan, President of Japu Samaj Yal, Miss Little Newa 1141 Arya Shrestha, Miss Little Newa 1143 Sujyoti Dangol, and Miss Little Neva Talent Anika Maharjan.

Additional organizers and supporters included Dilkumar Maharjan, Treasurer of Pokhreli Didi Baini Foundation, Sagun Tamrakar, Marketing Manager of News 24, Jharna Shrestha, Assistant Marketing Manager, Salika Chitrakar of Sporsh Marma Therapy, Shivlal Shrestha of Tasveer Studio, Gyanu Raja Maharjan (Secretary of R.D. Foundation), and Daniel Rollser from Finland. All participants also underwent hair and skin testing conducted by beauticians Sony Ranjitkar and Mina Shrestha.

The final round of the competition is scheduled for Magh 5 (around late January) in Kathmandu, featuring choreography by Miss Newa Sakina Maharjan, Pralisha Shakya, and Chief Welfare Ambassador Timila Maharjan, with the event coordinated by Krisha Maharjan.
