Congress Meeting Called for 1 Pm Not Yet Begun

Jan 13, Kathmandu - The meeting of the Congress Central Committee, which was called at 1 pm, has not yet begun.

The central members had started arriving at the party headquarters in Sanepa since 1:30 pm and entering the meeting hall.

Spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat, leaders Shekhar Koirala, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Vijay Kumar Gachhadar, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Deepak Giri, Sujata Koirala, Chandra Bhandari and others have already reached the central office. Leaders and cadres are still arriving.

Central Working Committee member Sujata Koirala said that the meeting was delayed due to ongoing talks with the special general convention supporters.

Currently, some leaders of the establishment party and the special general convention supporters are in talks in Baluwatar. A central member said that the central committee will take a decision based on the conclusions of the talks. "We are in a wait-and-see situation as to what happens on the other side," he said.

Pradeep Poudel, Gururaj Ghimire, Devraj Chalise, Madhu Acharya are participating in the ongoing talks in Baluwatar from the general convention supporters, while Ramesh Lekhak and Balkrishna Khand are from the establishment party.
