Jan 16, Kathmandu - The limestone cliffs located in Bimalnagar, Bandipur Rural Municipality-4, Tanahun, along the Muglin-Pokhara road section of the Prithvi Highway, are currently bustling with climbers.
A significant number of people come here to climb rocks during the winter season. Climbers climb the limestone cliffs before going on mountain climbing. Therefore, the limestone cliffs have recently become a training center for rock climbing.
With the aim of producing mountain guides, it has become a place to provide rock climbing training to trainees who are undergoing training from various organizations. The limestone mountain has become a training ground not only for guides but also for the production of Nepal Police's risk rescue teams. Nepal is considered a suitable place for mountain trekking. The goal is to attract foreign tourists who come here and produce skilled mountain guides, informed Lal Kumar Shrestha, founding chairman of the Siddha Cave Conservation Committee.
"Foreign and domestic adventurers come here from time to time for rock climbing. The company is producing skilled and experienced guides, and it has become a training center for Nepal Police for risk rescue," said Shrestha. "In the past, there was a plan to cut down the mountain during road expansion, but later we built a training center for adventure sports." He said that it is necessary to develop rock climbing, which is an adventure sport, and link it with income generation.
Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association, Gairidhara, Kathmandu, has stated that mountain guide training is being conducted with the aim of producing skilled mountain guides with national-level certification for foreign tourists visiting here. It will be conducted for a week. Pasang Tendi Sherpa, General Secretary of Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association, informed that the 17th round of training is being conducted here.
