Writ Filed in Supreme Court Against Election Commission's Decision

Jan 18, Kathmandu - The Sher Bahadur Deuba faction has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the Election Commission's decision to grant legitimacy to the Gagan Thapa group of the Nepali Congress.

The Supreme Court has stated that the initial hearing of the writ petition filed by Shrawan Kumar Shrestha, the heir of Congress leader duo Deuba and Purna Bahadur Khadka, will be held next Tuesday.

The writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court, claiming that the Election Commission's decision is null and void, the postponement of candidacy for the elections scheduled for Magh 20, and the newly elected working committee are illegal.
