Jan 18, Kathmandu - This year's Secondary Education Examination (SEE) is likely to be held in the third week of Chaitra. Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the House of Representatives elections on Falgun 21, the National Examination Board is preparing to release the examination schedule from the third week of Chaitra.
According to sources, the board's calendar has a schedule to publish the schedule on Chaitra 7. The board meeting to be held on the 6th will publish the exam schedule. SEE Examination Controller Tukraj Adhikari said that preparations are underway to conduct the exam in the third week of Chaitra due to the election. The board has stated that preparations have been started to conduct the exam on the specified date if the election date is postponed. There is a possibility that the election will be postponed for a few days due to the dispute with the Nepali Congress.
When will the exam be held? A meeting to be held on the 6th of the day will decide whether to postpone or not. According to the board, if the election date is postponed, it is estimated that it will be postponed for only a few days. The board has stated that it has completed all the preparations for the exam. The exam date has been postponed because the ballot papers for the proportional representation are being printed at the press of Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited. Since the date of printing the ballot papers and the exam question papers are the same, there is a possibility that the SEE exam will be postponed.
Meanwhile, the board has made preparations to hold the Class 12 exam on the scheduled date as there is a possibility of postponing the Class 10 exam. Board Vice-Chairman and Education Secretary Poudel informed that there is no possibility of postponing the Class 12 exam at present.
The board has to print the question paper of class 10 and send it to the examination center. Whereas, there is a provision to send the question paper of class 12 online only about half an hour before. Since the question paper of SEE has to be printed, there is a possibility of the exam being postponed. The SEE Examination Controller Officer said that the regular work of the exam is continuing as there has been no decision on whether to postpone the exam or not.
There has been no decision or formal discussion in the commission on issues like shifting the election date, shifting the nomination date. Everyone is requested not to spread news based on speculation.
