Jan 19, Kathmandu - Balendra Shah, a senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and declared candidate for Prime Minister, has said that the provincial structure should be strengthened to strengthen federalism.
At a program organized by the RSP in Janakpur on Monday, Shah said that the provincial structure should be strengthened. He said that the RSP is often asked in Kathmandu about its views on federalism. He said, 'The province should be strengthened.' He said that the province will be strengthened only if the compulsion to go to Kathmandu to change the Chief Administrative Officer of Birgunj is ended.
Balendra Shah said that the situation of having to go to Kathmandu to demand rights should be ended by strengthening the provincial structure. 'We should not go to Kathmandu to demand rights, but to visit Pashupati and Swayambhunath,' Shah said.
Shah said that the RSP should be voted for for the development of the country and Madhesh.
