Decision to Shut Down OTT Version of 'Bigg Boss' Amid Controversy

Jan 20, Kathmandu - India's controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss' has been ruling television for 19 years. To make it more popular, three of its seasons were also brought to OTT, which used to run for one and a half to two months.

If you are waiting for the fourth season after 'Bigg Boss OTT 3', then that wait is now over. Because the OTT version is no longer coming. The makers have decided to shut down the OTT version.

According to ‘Bigg Boss Tak’, ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ has been postponed indefinitely. The makers have decided to broadcast ‘Bigg Boss’ only in Hindi from now on. Viewers will be able to watch the Hindi show on TV and OTT.

The makers have taken this decision as they do not want to limit the viewers to television or digital only. Now viewers on both platforms will be able to watch the same show, just like it was during ‘Bigg Boss 19’.

‘Bigg Boss OTT Season 1’ was hosted by Karan Johar. Its winner was Divya Agarwal. Similarly, ‘Bigg Boss OTT Season 2’ was hosted by Salman Khan and its title was won by Elvis Yadav.

The subsequent ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’ was hosted by Anil Kapoor and Sana Maqbool was chosen as the winner. A fourth season was in the making, which has now been cancelled.

The viewers have also supported this decision of the makers. One user wrote, “When the TV version can be watched on OTT, there is no need for a separate OTT version.” Another user responded, “When regular Bigg Boss is streamed on OTT, there is no justification for ‘BB OTT’.”
