Jan 20, Kathmandu - Yogesh Gauchan, a member of the dissolved House of Representatives, has registered his candidacy for the House of Representatives from Mustang. Gauchan, who became a candidate from the Nepali Congress, is 32 years old.
UML has fielded Indradhara Dhadu Bista. Bista, 56, was a member of the Provincial Assembly in 2074 BS but was defeated in the 2079 elections. Gauchan is from Lete in South Mustang, while Bista is from Lomanthang in North Mustang.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Mustang, has made public the list of candidates who have registered their nomination papers.
Similarly, 39-year-old Chandra Thakali from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and 60-year-old Kamala Lalchan from the RPP are in the election contest. Kamala is the only female candidate among the eight registered candidates.
The youngest candidate in terms of age is Ajay BK, 26, of the Aam Janata Party, while the oldest candidate is Surendra Sherchan, 68, of the Ujjwal Nepal Party. The Nepali Communist Party has nominated Ngutuk Gurung, and the Mongol National Organization has nominated Yama Bahadur Gurung.
