Jan 22, Kathmandu - The government has decided to extend the term of the high-level inquiry commission formed to investigate the incidents that took place during the Gen-Z movement.
The cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday decided to extend the term of the high-level inquiry commission by 20 days, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal informed. The government extended the term after the term of the commission formed under the chairmanship of former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki expired on Thursday.
The commission, which was formed in Bhadra with a three-month mandate, had previously been extended by one month after its work was not completed. The cabinet decided to extend the term at the request of the commission as the work of writing the report is yet to be completed.
Similarly, the cabinet decided to accept a grant assistance of two million US dollars from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for the preparation of the Butwal-Pokhara section improvement project of the Siddhartha Highway, Minister Aryal informed. Similarly, the meeting also decided to designate Home Minister Aryal as the spokesperson of the government.
