Jan 23, Kathmandu - Ashika Tamang, the candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from Dhading-1, has informed the election officer to withdraw her candidacy.

Election Officer Ekraj Adhikari said that she contacted him via email and phone on Friday afternoon.

According to the officer, Tamang has said that she will appear in the office herself for formal identification.

She has sent a form as per Schedule 22 through an email stating that she will withdraw her candidacy as per Section 25 (1) of the House of Representatives Election Act 2074 BS.

However, Tamang said that discussions on the matter are ongoing and a final decision will be made around 2 pm.
