Jan 23, Kathmandu - Among the candidates who filed their candidacies for the House of Representatives elections on Magh 6, 49 people from across the country have withdrawn their candidacies.

The Election Commission informed about this at a press conference on Friday. Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that claims were filed against five candidates and the candidacy of one of them has been rejected.

The Commission has announced that the candidacy of Resham Lal Chaudhary of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal has been rejected.
