Jan 24, Kathmandu - Ujyalo Nepal Party Chairman Kulman Ghising has said that he did not ‘bargain’ for any post during the merger with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
At a program organized in Kathmandu on Saturday (Magh 10), he said that the accusation that he had bargained for a post by accepting Rabi Lamichhane as the president and Balendra Shah (Balen) as the senior leader and entering the merger process with the RSP is not true.
He mentioned that he had received information from the top levels of the RSP that the unity had been broken during his discussions on party management. He claimed that the RSP had given up during the selection of proportional candidates.
He clarified that he had directly proposed to field a few more candidates from the RSP.
He mentioned that the RSP had broken the unity when he made a statement about fielding candidates from the direct side and that he was surprised.
Chairman Ghising expressed his suspicion that the RSP might have been pressured from elsewhere to break the unity with the RSP. He said that the party has made strong preparations for the upcoming general elections.
