Jan 24, Kathmandu - A special event honoring the memory of renowned Nepali singer Taradevi was successfully organized, featuring tributes, respect, and musical performances. The program was conducted under the auspices of the Taradevi Memorial Foundation in collaboration with Kathmandu Metropolitan City and took place at Nepal Police Club Bhirkutimandap on Friday evening.

The event commenced with floral tribute to the immortal singer Taradevi’s photograph. During the occasion, her timeless songs, contributions to Nepali music, and her personality were discussed. Subsequently, various cultural and musical performances were held to celebrate Taradevi’s artistic legacy.

Her evergreen songs moved the audience and listeners emotionally, and the younger generation also got a chance to experience the profound influence of her music.

Senior artist Kiran Kharal, musician Deepak Jangam, and former Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Vidyasundar Shakya, were special guests at the program. The guests praised Taradevi as an unforgettable name in the history of Nepali music, emphasizing that her contributions will always be remembered.

On the occasion, individuals who made significant contributions to the development of Nepali song and music were also honored. The awardees included lyricist Madhav Prasad Khanal, musician Shiv Shankar Manandhar, and renowned singer Sangeeta Rana Pradhan.

Deepak K.C., President of the Taradevi Memorial Foundation and the organizer of the event, described Taradevi as an inspiring figure in Nepali music and expressed that her songs, voice, and contributions will be forever cherished.

He also expressed confidence that such programs not only highlight the contributions of past artists but also inspire and attract the new generation towards Nepali song and music.
