Heavy snow in the US: More than 14,000 flights canceled

Jan 25, Kathmandu - More than 14,000 flights have been canceled in the United States due to a week of heavy snow.

More than 14,800 flights have been canceled from Saturday to Monday, and a state of emergency has been declared in ten states.

Several highways have been closed as the snow has created dangerous road conditions. According to CNN, citing data from FlightAware, 43 percent of scheduled flights on American Airlines and 35 percent of flights on Atlanta-based Delta Airlines have been grounded.
