Two Arrested with Fake Weapons from Koteshwor

Jan 25, Kathmandu - Authorities have arrested two individuals with fake weapons from Koteshwor, Kathmandu.

According to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Office and Ranipokhari, the suspects were apprehended by a team from the Satdobato Police Station.

The suspects, identified as 28-year-old Kiran Ghimire from Jhapa and Kumar Lohar from Achham, were arrested in the Koteshwor area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

During the search, police recovered a dummy rifle resembling a 303, two dummy weapons resembling pistols, an iron-made weapon similar to a khukuri, and a motorcycle.

Based on CCTV footage, the motorcycle with the registration number Bagmati Pradesh 02-012 P 5852 was identified as belonging to Ghimire. After his arrest, it was discovered that the fake weapons were hidden at the Cultural Dance Art Center located in Ward No. 32 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Further investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
