Tiger Cup Volleyball: Gandaki's thrilling win over Army

Jan 26, Kathmandu - Gandaki Province has registered a thrilling victory over Tribhuvan Army Club in the 6th Tiger Cup National and International Invitational Club Volleyball Championship.

In today's third and final match of the championship held at the volleyball court at Pokhara Stadium, Gandaki registered a thrilling 3-1 victory over Army.

After winning the first and third sets, which were very competitive, Gandaki won 33-31, but Army dominated in the second set and won 25-15. In the fourth set, Gandaki won 25-19 to put the match in its favor.

Gandaki has registered its second victory in the championship. After losing to the Armed Police Force (APF) in the first match, Gandaki defeated the Maldives Volleyball Association in the second match. Army, on the other hand, has suffered its second consecutive defeat. Army, which defeated the Maldives in the first match, was defeated by Nepal Police Club in the second match.

APF won both the men's and women's matches held earlier today. In the men's category, APF defeated Maldives in straight sets of 3-0. In the women's category, APF defeated Tribhuvan Army Club.

There will be 4 matches tomorrow, Tuesday, under the championship. The first match will be between Army and Thailand Queens in the women's category starting at 8:30 am. The second match will be between New Diamond Sports Club and Police in the women's category.

After that, there will be 2 matches in the men's category. In the first match for the men's category, Parbat District Volleyball Association and Maldives will face each other. The second match for the men's category is scheduled to be between Gandaki and Police.

Organized by Tiger Group of Pokhara Nepal, 6 teams are participating in the championship for men and 5 teams for women, which will last until Magh 17.

The top two teams in the single round-robin competition will compete for the title.
