Complaint filed with Election Commission against Oli and Balen's statements

Jan 26, Kathmandu - A complaint has been filed with the Election Commission against Balendra Shah ‘Balen’, a senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The complaint has been filed for making hateful, misleading and defamatory statements against the election code of conduct, prevailing laws and the democratic election process.

Dharmaraj Timilsina has filed the complaint. A few days ago, Balen had made statements criticizing UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress Chairman Gagan Kumar Thapalakith.

There is ongoing discussion about holding a public debate between the prime ministerial candidates after the election.

In that context, Oli had said that he was ready for a public debate. In it, Balen had made intolerant statements targeting Oli and Thapa.
