Jan 27, Kathmandu - A month after the couple's murder case was not resolved, another elderly couple was brutally murdered in Bhadaure, Chisankhugadhi Rural Municipality-6, Okhaldhunga.
The bodies of 80-year-old Chandra Bikram Rai and his wife Chandramaya Rai were found in the Bohore Tole of Bhadaure after being robbed. According to ward chair Balram Katwal, it is initially believed that the couple was murdered after robbing a small shop they were running.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, local police reached the spot and tightened security arrangements. Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan KC, Chief of the Okhaldhunga District Police Office, informed about the incident and said that a team led by him is preparing to leave for the spot.
"The scene has been secured, and a police team is being mobilized for investigation," he said. Earlier, about a month ago, Shobhitman Thapa Magar, about 60, and his wife Ratnamaya Thapa Magar were murdered in Bhadaure, Chishankhugadhi Rural Municipality-6.
While four people have been arrested and an investigation is underway, locals are panicking after another murder case came to light. Stating that the continuous murders have added a serious security challenge to the Bhadaure area, locals have demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and strict action. Police said that further details about the incident are yet to be released.
