Jan 29, Kathmandu - The Supreme Court has ordered the completion of the previous file and submission of the writ petition against the cancellation of the candidacy of Resham Lal Chaudhary, the patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal. The joint bench of Justices Bal Krishna Dhakal and Nripadhwaj Niraula has ordered the submission of the file of the verdict related to the case of manslaughter in accordance with the previous order.
Earlier, a single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal had ordered the Election Commission to submit a written response to the writ petition filed by Chaudhary. It also summoned both parties to discuss the interim order. Dhakal's bench had ordered the withdrawal of the writ petition filed by Sharada Kadayat against the amnesty granted to Chaudhary and a certified copy of the decision made by the Election Commission.
The Election Commission had rejected his candidacy from Kailali 1 for the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives to be held on Falgun 21.
