Jan 30, Kathmandu - President Ram Chandra Poudel is leaving for Japan on Sunday (Magh 18) as part of a four-day visit.
President Poudel is going to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese government to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that President Poudel's visit to Japan will be from Magh 18 to 21 (four days).
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Poudel is scheduled to have a state meeting with Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Magh 20.
Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sane is scheduled to meet President Poudel in Tokyo on Magh 20 itself.
Earlier, on Magh 19, President Poudel will participate in a special function organized by Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hori Iwao on behalf of the Japanese government to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations.
Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Poudel on Magh 19 itself.
During the visit, President Poudel is also scheduled to meet with the Japanese business community. President Poudel will also participate in a program organized in his honor by the Nepali Embassy in Tokyo.
The President will be accompanied by his wife Savita Poudel and high-ranking government officials during his visit to Japan.
President Poudel is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Magh 21.
