The court cannot remain silent: Oli

Jan 31, Kathmandu - Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (UML), KP Sharma Oli, has urged the Supreme Court to swiftly decide on the reinstatement of the Parliament or the conduct of elections. Oli made this appeal during a gathering of party workers focused on the upcoming parliamentary elections, organized by the UML Okhaldhunga-Kathmandu Contact Forum.

Highlighting the recent petitions filed by most lawmakers from various political parties and the dissolved parliament against unconstitutional actions, Oli emphasized that the court cannot remain silent. He accused the government of plunging the country into a severe crisis following protests on Bhadra 23 and 24, weakening state institutions, and unlawfully forming a government, which led to the dissolution of Parliament and the setting of an election date.
