Development Board pays last respects to late film journalist Sitaula

Feb 01, Kathmandu - The body of Dinesh Sitaula, a former president of the Film Journalists Association, is being prepared for last rites at the Film Development Board.

The final farewell is scheduled to be held from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM today. His mortal remains are expected to be cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat on Sunday.

Sitaula had been receiving treatment at Grande Hospital in Thapathali and was kept in the ICU. He passed away during treatment after suffering a sudden brain haemorrhage, which led to his hospitalization on Saturday.

While in Achham, Sitaula suddenly collapsed, after which he was referred to Kathmandu by the local hospital for further treatment.

He had made significant contributions to Nepali film journalism. Recently, he was also associated as a media coordinator for the film ‘Jhari Pachhi ko Indreni.’

Sitaula had traveled to Sudurpashchim and Karnali with Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Balen Shah and film director Arjun Ghimire. Following his sudden collapse, he was brought to Kathmandu for treatment.
