Health Insurance Board Decides to Provide OPD Services up to Rs 25,000 Only

Feb 02, Kathmandu - The Health Insurance Board has decided to provide only a maximum of Rs 25,000 treatment facilities to insured families through outpatient (OPD) services.

The board has decided to provide only up to Rs 25,000 treatment facilities to insured families in a fiscal year with the aim of reducing the burden and making the health insurance program more sustainable.

The decision will come into effect from Falgun 1. The board has stated that an additional service facility of Rs 25,000 per family (maximum five) has been fixed annually and Rs 5,000 for each additional member.

The board has stated that the treatment of eight types of serious and chronic diseases as per Schedule 6 of the Health Insurance Regulations will continue as per the current arrangements, the board has stated.
