Feb 03, Kathmandu - There has been a gas shortage in the Nepali market for the past two weeks. There is currently a shortage of cooking gas in the market. Due to which consumers are suffering.

Consumers have had to face a severe shortage of gas as gas is not transported from India on time. When India imposed a blockade, there was a gas shortage across the country, including Kathmandu.

After gas has not been available at Nepal Gas sales centers for two weeks, hundreds of consumers have been reaching the Nepal Gas office in Balaju Industrial Center carrying empty cylinders everyday. Even when they reach the office, consumers have been complaining that they have not received Nepal Gas.

Hundreds of consumers are currently waiting in line at the office, which distributes gas only from morning to 2 pm.

As consumers continue to complain about not receiving gas, the Nepal Gas company has said that the problem persists due to problems in transportation.
