Feb 03, Kathmandu - Nepal's Para Taekwondo coach Kabiraj Negi Lama has won the World Taekwondo (WT) Best Para-Taekwondo Coach of the Year 2025.
Lama was presented with the Best Para-Taekwondo Coach Award in the UAE on Monday. Lama is the first Nepali coach to receive such an award from WT. The award was presented in recognition of the medals he won at the Paralympics and Asian Youth Para Games.
Lama, who has been a volunteer coach of the national Para-Taekwondo team at the Nepal Taekwondo Association since 2015, has won 13 international official-level medals for Nepal.
Lama was the coach when Nepal's Palesha Govardhan won the bronze medal at the Paralympics. Under Lama's coaching, Nepal has won three gold, two silver and eight bronze medals from the Asian Games to the Paralympics and from the Asian Championship to the World Championship.
