Feb 05, Kathmandu - Nepal’s Asif Sheikh delivered a stellar performance, scoring a half-century as he chased down Canada’s target of 162 runs in a warm-up match ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.
On Thursday at the M.A. Chidambaram Cricket Stadium in Chennai, Asif reached 50 off just 6.4 overs, facing 18 balls and smashing six boundaries and three sixes.
Alongside him in the crease was Sandeep Jora, who was batting on 17 runs. Nepal, meanwhile, had scored 79 runs for the loss of one wicket.
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat, Canada posted a total of 161 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs.
This was Nepal’s second warm-up game, having previously secured a seven-wicket victory against the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Nepal is set to kick off their World Cup journey on February 8 against England.
